Queretaro Mexico Mission: 3 Weeks Left

Well family, I am doing great. Honestly, I am putting baptismal dates with investigators for after I go. I feel weird doing that, But it is a good feeling, knowing that I am leaving something for the other missionaries that come after me. Today we visited Dolores Hidalgo and I got to see some old faces, and it was awesome. I feel like I am able to give my all and complete what the Lord wants me to do. But as the time gets closer I get a little more worried every time. I am kind of stressed out about coming home, but that is normal before a big step in your life :)

Anyways, I am doing good, working hard, and I will until I am done. Take care and see ya soon!! :)

Queretaro Mexico Mission: 5 Weeks Left

My new comp just finished his training and he is super excited to be on the mission. He just needs a little more discipline with getting up and everything :) He is a little lazy with getting up on time, but he will get better. Crazy! I only have 5 weeks left! Say hi to everyone for me!! Nothing much to report! But life is good and I am happy!

Don't have a lot of time but I got transfers! I went to a little place called Silao in Guanajuato. I am with Elder Vazquez, who just barely finished his training. Don't have much to tell ya but it is pretty good so far!!  But I am actually filling out my itinerary right now for my flight back home, so I am going to ask you some things real quick :) Saying goodbye to everyone was hard, but we got to say goodbye to everyone we wanted to.

Queretaro Mexico Mission: 7 Weeks Left

This week went quite well, no complaints, actually, better than that, it was fantastic, no joke. Something amazing that happened this week is that.... actually a couple things :) 1) We have officially reactivated 3 families. Every single one came to church and are going strong. 2)We have one investigator that is amazing and she is going to be baptized this Saturday. She came and everything was good. Then, out of the blue, a family that we have never seen walked in and sat down. We talked to them afterwards and they told us that they are from Queretaro and just moved here. She is an investigator and so is her husband. She had a baptismal date for the 30th (this saturday) and wanted to continue with it!!! 2 baptisms! :D life is pretty good and I am very happy :)

The ward is great and transfers are this Sunday! Not so happy. I think I will be staying because it will be my last transfer. That is very weird to say. So I am doing good, still don't have my flight information. I talked to an Elder who is going home and he told me he didn´t get it until 4 weeks before he left. So it is a possibility that I will have to wait until then. I love you guys and miss you!

Queretaro Mexico Mission: 8 Weeks Left

The baptism, this past Saturday,  went pretty smoothly (they just got there 30 minutes late). But it was very sweet. She got confirmed yesterday and yeah! It was pretty great, not gonna lie. Ilich didnt go to church because he got sick, but he is going strong. And the dinner that Sister Sepulveda gave us was cheese burgers, so amazing! The work here is pretty much the same, hard but very rewarding. I was talking with the asistant last night (he is going home with me) and he told me that we had 8 weeks left, 7 weeks and 6 days more tomorrow. You are not the only one who is excited for September 12th :P Nothing much to report, Life is good and grand :) Say hi to everyone there, I miss you guys, Love you and will be seeing you soon! also, transfers are next sunday.

Sister Sepulveda friended me on FB and I asked Alex about her.

Sister Sepulveda is easily one of the most legit sisters ever, she loves us because her son is on a mission in Costa Rica and she has an amazing testimony! She also speaks english :) But more importantly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!! I LOVE YOU AND you are the greatest mother a son could ask for, and more. I love you more than I can say mom. Thanks for being a mom that was always there and always ready to help and love, not only your own children, but everyone around you. You truly understand your calling as a mother.

This week was very good, an investigator went to the temple with the ward, so he is locked and loaded for baptism. This Saturday we will have the baptism of a girl whose family we reactivated, we are very very excited for that. This has been one of my favorite areas by far :) even though it has also been one of the hardest, I truly love it here! I think I will finish here (but honestly who knows?). Nothing new, life goes good, as well as the work of the Lord. I am completely and utterly happy! I miss you and love you guys. Take care!

1)I never showed you guys the outside of my house! It is one of the nicest houses EVER! (for missionaries at least)
2)I found this in my bag. I totally forgot I had it. It is definitely the most mormon thing I own.

Queretaro Mexico Mission: 10 Weeks Left

Finally met the new Mission President!! We met with them Wednesday and they are the nicest people ever! President Williamson served a mission in Argentina and his spanish was kind of lost, he wasn't used to speaking it. I felt super bad for the Sister Williamson! She doesn't speak a lick of spanish, and I helped her translate for the multi zone conference, and she just feels a little over her head. I gave her some words of encouragement and all the Americans talked to her and got her happy. They are super great people and it is the easiest thing to love them. I didn´t even try hard :) hahahaha We have a legit guy, Ilich, who accepted baptism and is a for sure on his baptism.

This Monday we got permission to play together the 2 zones and is was super fun. Everyone enjoyed it, even though from time to time it got heated, we were able to cool it down (20 year olds being 20 year olds). And all in all, the week was quite good, no complaints!! I love you guys and miss you a bunch!! See ya in 10!

Queretaro Mexico Mission: 11 Weeks Left

Well mommacita, I have still not met the new president, he gets here today! And the last conference was full of tears! Mostly me..... again........ We had 4 people come to the church this week! So it was a very happy surprise! It is the biggest amount of investigators that have gotten to church in 6 months in this area. So yeah, we were happy!  This week was busy, what with the conference and all, saying goodbye, some elders got sick,  luckily it was not nearly as bad this time! But Moses didn't come to church, but we are going to start teaching his entire family.

I am feeling ok, just normal. I am ok with the homecoming talk being that day. And don't worry about being excited, at least one of us has to be :P don`t get me wrong, I am excited to see you guys and say hi to the family, I love you guys!!! But it is going to be hard to leave. I feel like there are 2 wars in my head. But I got another 2 and a half months to think about it :P I love you guys and miss you like crazy!!

Queretaro Mexico Mission: 12 Weeks Left

We stayed exactly the same! I am going to be staying in Celaya Vergel! Kind of super happy! I felt like I still hadn´t accomplished what I needed to do, so I am super glad to stay. We found some new people this week, among them being a professional beatboxer named Moses and a failed actor from Hollywood named Johnny. It was a pretty great week. And we brought more to church! It was a great week. Unfortunately we had to close down the area of the sisters, so that was pretty sad. But they understood the reason.

The new mission president will get here in exactly one week, this Thursday will be the last conference with President Mejorada. I feel super old in the mission, especially since we got a new missionary in the zone named Elder Russon he only has 2 months. He asked me how much time  I had, I told him 21 months. I have 21 months!! But, it mattereth not. The members are doing great, just need a little push to get going! That is it family, I love you guys and miss you a ton! Take care!

Queretaro Mexico Mission: 14 Weeks Left

I will indeed be coming home the 14th of September. Don't worry mommacita, I will be home soon :P hahahaha The baptism was pretty great, the dad is actually not a member so we are now teaching him in hopes that this will be a turning point for him. The kid who I baptized can´t say my name very well, so he just calls me Elder Guerito (Elder White guy). I talked to president about possibly closing one of the 2 companionships in our area. I recommended that he keep the sisters in the area, and he said he'll think about it. I saw him this Sunday and the President Mejorada smiled and told me that he talked to the stake president (who is in our ward) and asked him which ones he would like to keep. He told us that the stake president said the elders, 100%. Apparently he likes us a lot! So it is possible that I will be finishing off here.

Something that has been occuring in the mission is that we are recieving less and less missionaries, while more and more missionaries are leaving. So we zone leaders are deciding which areas should be closed down and which not to close down. It has gotten to be such a problem that most likely this next change they are going to merge the 2 zones in Celaya into 1 zone of 26 missionaries. That will be crazy!! Anyways, that video of the baseball was awesome! Congratulate papa for me!! And Sam and Cole look like stud muffins! Also say hi to Grandpa Beyete for me! I miss you guys and about the travel itinerary, it will be coming next transfer. :O I love you!

Queretaro Mexico Mission: 15 Weeks Left

This week was pretty normal, nothing big to report. We are working hard and life goes good. We recently reactivated a less active family and their son asked me to baptized him! The water was cold, so he didn't like that very much :) But it was pretty dang legit. I don't know how many people I have baptized and I made it a goal to not count!

I feel good about this area. I still am frustrated from time to time but I would be ok with finishing here. I like the ward a lot and even though I might not have a freak ton of baptisms here, I am cool with that. The missionaries in the zone are working hard, I couldn't be prouder of them! The sister missionaries have calmed down a freak ton! And everything is simply chill here:) This p day was quite fun. We went and played pool, then had a carne asada (barbecue mexican style). It was delicious and I couldn't move afterwards. It was a good week all in all! I love you guys and miss you!

Queretaro Mexico Mission: 16 Weeks Left

Elder Eaton, is responding to finding out our sweet Gracie dog was put down.

Wow........ honestly, that was like a punch to the gut. But, it will be alright :) I am sure she is in good care with Grandma Sauer. My favorite memory of her would be whenever I would laid down on the floor and she ran onto my chest to give me some not so sweet kisses. I am sure going to miss her.

This week was like the others, hard work, we found 3 new investigators but no one came to church. Again. It is just a little frustrating not going to lie. This is definitely the hardest that I have worked on my mission, yet I see less results. I was talking with my companion about this and we had no idea what was going on. I was asked by the bishopric to prepare a talk. When I asked what should the talk be about, they told me that it could be whatever I wanted. Welcome to the mission! I decided to share a talk on endure to the end and the discouragement that we will encounter on our life here. I chose it not only because I knew that the ward needed, but also I did too. So, as I was reading about the great missionaries with thousands of baptisms, I started thinking "why them and not me? what more do I have to do?!" So I was looking for something like a secret. Something that if I changed, I would be great like them!....... I didn't find it. But I found my answer.

In Alma 26:26-27,29-30. This is when Ammon is giving a brief summary of his mission as it comes to an end. And he talks about the beginning of his mission. And I started to understand that this was the only difference. They were super disheartened and wanted to go back, but then the Lord told them that they have to go again. But THIS time, He would give them success. So they taught them everywhere (like I have been doing). They taught them in their houses, streets, workplaces, in the middle of nowhere! Then they were cast out, made fun of, spit at, hit, stoned and thrown into prison. The only two things that haven't happened of those on my mission where stoned and thrown into prison. The rest yes. But like they say, God always saved them. In 30 is what I like is when Ammon says that they suffered this that they might bring at least one SOUL unto God. ONE. In 26 they wanted to save some souls. But in 30 it says they would have been insanely happy with even ONE.

I shared this with the ward, and I did a self reflection. Have I made a difference on my mission? Yes. it is hard when you would like some more. But sometimes, we need to recognize that our best effort isnt enough, and maybe God doesn't have these people planned for baptism right now. But I sure as heck can prepare the way. I may not gather the harvest here but I sure can plant a seed. I am making a difference :) I love you guys and miss you a ton.

Queretaro Mexico Mission: 17 Weeks Left

The investigators are doing pretty great, actually one of them went to church!! It was the first time in a long time that happened. He asked for a ride from an awesome member because he banged up his knee pretty bad in a bike accident, but he loved church! His name is Eduardo and he is 25 years old. Super chill and accepts everything and prays a ton. He is for June! As for my comp, he is doing alright, still gets frustrated from time to time but I make sure he ends each day on a good note.

To be honest with you guys, this was the hardest week I have had in the mission, but in a good way. I worked so hard and contacted more than I can count, got addresses, but at the same time, almost all of our plans fell! When our plans fell, we went with our backup plans, but they weren't home either!! So we ended up contacting on the streets. It would have been so easy to get discouraged, but  I tried so flipping hard to keep it up, as well as my companion. It wasn't easy, we only found one new investigator, but this is the week I have most been satisfied with my work. Even though we didnt find a lot, we both agreed that we worked insanely hard and we were more than satisfied. I gave it all, 110% this week. The Lord is definitely proud of me. :) The zone meeting was great, and the sisters are doing good. Nothing to complain here! I love you guys and miss you!!

Queretaro Mexico Mission: 18 Weeks Left

Hello family! We are doing better here, we found 4 more investigators to teach, so we are pretty happy! My comp worked as a floral arranger and wedding designer before the mission :) We are working hard, he is just kind of a self-frustrater, like me, so I have been helping him with that. Nothing more to report, the sister missionaries in the zone are getting along great now, they just started a war with their district leader because they were offended by something he told them about how some of their investigators don't count in the sacrament meeting they complained about that but I talked them away from the gun for that. Tomorrow we are going to have our Zone meeting, so it will be a long night of preparation. I will for sure keep Michael in my prayers. I love you guys a ton and miss you! BYE!

Well first off, Happy mothers day again mom :) I love you a ton and words cannot describe how grateful I am to have you in my life. You are one of the principal examples in my life of how to live the gospel. I love you. Second off, if you want, you can continue with the countdown, I am ok with it. I will give it my all no matter what. So my new companion is Elder Martinez.  He seems pretty legit and we are already getting along pretty well. I think you guys know pretty much everything that is going on in my life, So that is great and well :) This week we will be focused on just finding a bunch of people! I will tell you guys how it goes next week, so I be on top of that. I love you guys and miss you!!
