Holo Familia!!!
Well, I am doing alright, I am actually sick right now with a case of Montezuma´s revenge if you know what I mean. Also a headache and I feel a bit nauseous but I got some mexican medicine, so that should be kicking in any moment. About transfers, Elder Mejia and I are staying together!!! El salvadoreño y el americano!! We were pretty happy about that, because we have a couple baptisms coming up in August so I get to see them through. Also, Elder Alonso, my trainer, is in my zone! So I am pretty excited about that. I have talked a little bit with Elder May but not much.

We are still teaching that family but it is a bit difficult to continue with them. On the bright side we have another investigator named Enrique that we just got. He is super funny and is accepting everything pretty easily. He has a problem with smoking but is trying hard to leave that behind. He is an older guy, about 65 years old, but when we taught him the law of chastity he kind of freaked out! He doesnt have a girlfriend or wife but when we asked him if he would follow the commandment, he only said "well, I will try but no promises". He is 65 years old. What the heck. Anyways, Hope everything is going good there! Love you guys!!

Well, the week started off terribly. We were playing soccer and I jacked up my ankle. A lot. So I was limping the first couple of days this week. We had a meeting with the president and when it was my turn I started walking towards him. He gave me a weird look and asked what was the problem. I just said I hurt it during soccer and shrugged it off. But when I finally got a good look with it HOLY COW! It looked like someone took a hammer to it! Dont worry, now it is almost 100% good. Doesnt even hurt. but DANG! (see photo below)

Our investigators are doing ok, but Enrique started smoking again and that legit sister, Goreti, that we found smokes too!! Everyone smokes!!! It is a bit frustrating with that. But with Goreti we haven't taught really deeply the word of wisdom, so we are going to go into more detail with that. With Enrique we are starting to think about leaving him because there are some things in his life that he doesn't want to change. It is sad but it might be necessary.

Also, something happened yesterday. I did get into a fight. Now, obviously it wasnt physical fight, more of a verbal debate (which I won). BUT that is very bad to do as a missionary! A guy came up to us and started to rail on us hardcore about how we were sinners and how us being baptized doesn't save us, by grace alone we will be saved, about how baptism does jack squat and that the bible has everything we need. I am going to be honest, I wasn't having the best day because we found out that some really jerky investigators have been lying to us about the living situation for 2 years to the members and to us. Also one of them is a member and lied to our face about not being baptized.
So keeping all this in mind, I started to fight back, quoted from Matthew the scripture about how "he who is not born of water and of the spirit cannot enter into the kingdom of God" and forced him to say baptism was necessary for salvation. Then I quoted the last verse in John that says all the things Jesus did and said cannot be written here in the book and gave some examples of missing scriptures in the bible. At this point he was seething mad and told us that since we havent accepted Jesus in our hearts we are going to hell. I said "I'll see you there" and walked away. That was one of my angriest moments in the mission. That is the latest story I feel bad about that but I was done.
So that is one thing of many that I have to get better at. But I feel pretty confident in my ability to use the scriptures now, especially from the bible because I have been reading in the old testament and have learned a ton. I just finished Job and am going strong! I am kind of dreading getting to Isaiah, but I will learn a ton. So yeah! Nothing more to report, Love you guys and miss you tons!!

Well, it feels like these 10 months have gone by super fast!! And at the end of this transfer I will have completed 11 months! It is pretty crazy! But what is more crazy is how much things have changed at home! New house, dad looking for a new job, Cole starting high school, Annie with her boy, it is loco! But I still havent gotten my package from you, I got one from Grandma McClellan, so that is pretty sweet! I will be starting divisions here tomorrow with Elder Brown, the one who made the music video of mexico. Divisions here last about 3 days, so it will be pretty fun!

Nothing new in our area, we just got a new investigator named Goreti and she is awesome. She came to church for the first time this sunday and said it was the weirdest thing ever. She has only visited the catholic church with all the pictures and statues in the sacrament hall, so she was weirded out that we were so different. But she has the biggest desire to change in the whole world. She is struggling as a single mom, a daughter at the age of 5, and she is only 21 years old. She cried when i taught her about the parable of the prodigal son when I described how the father runs to his son and accepts him with love. She started crying and said "If only all fathers were like that".  So her life is pretty tough, to say in the least. But she is ready to change! And I cant wait to help her! Also, Enrique, stopped smoking completely!!!!!! It was awesome! After 50 years of smoking, he stopped it just like that! Power of fasting!! WHAT?!

Well, today we played soccer and i sprained my ankle I am pretty sure. I landed on it super hard, but on the side. It swelled up pretty big and It hurts to walk on it. So After this i will be icing it down in the house because it hurts to walk. Brings back memories of volleyball! Every practice of my life. Bu

t that is all that is going on now! Nothing else to report, i miss you and love you guys!!!

Holo

Nothing really exciting has happened here. Elder Mejia are still getting along, we played Chubby Bunny last night with huge costco marshmallows, he won with only 2 marshmallows. You already know that I am weak sauce for that kind of stuff. Transfers will be this Sunday, so we are working pretty hard to have some baptisms in August. This week sucked, it was hard. Nobody was in their house and that was even when we made appointments with them. I dont know if I have told you guys about our investigators Andres and Rebecca.

They are not really investigators but they are. It is complicated. They are more or less like little kids who always think they are right and lie. A lot. In my history of being here in Leon in total I have made 2 appointments with them every week. I have had 6 lessons with them in 4 1/2 months. 6/18 appointments they were there. We have left them a number of times but they always beg us to come back. We looked at their teaching record and they have been taught for 5 years by the missionaries! And every single one of them have left behind comments about Andres and Rebecca, pretty much venting all their anger on the page. We left them once and for all and joined a long history of missionaries in the comments section.

Elder Mejia and I are still getting along great and today we got permission to see Big Hero 6 from president, so that was pretty cool! But Kevin just sent me a list of all the movies I have to see that I missed, so, I can see that I am lacking. hahaha but we enjoyed it. We ordered papa johns and watched it in the church. This week had a good ending.

Heyo!
Well, this week was quite legit if I may say so myself. We had a baptism, played football p day, and the rain was so hard that all the streets flooded and we had to walk through them to an interview, so I felt like a missionary!! Elder Mejia and I are still getting along great, we just went to Costco and bought some Martinellis sparkling cider to have a late 4th of July. How was 4th of July there? What did you do? Here nothing happened, obviously. I learned from an investigator that apparently all the national holidays are when it is easier to cross the border since there are less guards, so, I will never use that information.

The baptism went smoothly. Kind of. We asked the investigator if he wanted a member to baptized him and he chose the 1st counselor in the bishopric. Everyone arrived on time. EXCEPT the 1st counselor, hermano Machuka! He got there a half hour late but it all turned out great! Arturo (who got baptized) almost cried a he is a super tough guy! It was pretty awesome to see the Spirit work on him. I got to confirm him and now he is an official member! I am loving it here!

So that is all that happened, All the photos will explain our situation a bit better :)

Hello! Nothing much to report to you guys, the date for the baptism is still this SATURDAY!!! HAPPY JULY 4TH!!!!!! Independence day, just not for anybody else except for me! But the hermano is named Arturo and he is freaking ready! I am going to be confirming him and the second counselor in the bishopric will be baptizing him! He is already pumped to go to the temple to be sealed with his family! And now, not so good news. The guy we were teaching the rehabilitation center got let out, and he smoked Marijuana within the first 2 days. All that work for nothing. he got put into another center and we are going to see if we are even going to visit him. That sucks.

Another thing that happened is that we got another investigator named Enrique. He is an older guy and feels super alone. We are teaching him so he can hopefully feel better in his life! We are playing soccer almost every monday now, and I am improving marginally! Still occasionally kick myself in the face with the ball but I am sure that it's normal! Nothing more to report, love you guys, miss you and pray for you every night!!

Well mom, I am sorry you can't always have your favorite child with you, the struggle is real. hahahaha but I am glad that Cole is going to EFY. A good looking guy like himself should definitely get a C.O.W. within in the first day, so no problem with that challenge! And it is great that Hermana Green stopped by again, she is really great.

About the new comp, it is going really good. It just took a little bit of adjusting because it had been 3 months since I was with a latino. But we are working really hard. We have our whole week full of appointments. Of course, we did work hard, but it is weird. Its like we work hard and nothing happens. Then when we least expect it, some guy contacts us in the street and says he wants to learn more. It is amazing to witness all this first hand. We are barely doing anything in the grand scheme of things. All we do is let the Spirit work in them and it will all turn out good. We are teaching really well together and we are winning over all the members. We have a good relationship with almost every single one of them. They love helping us but almost none of them have friends outside of church, only in the church. So that means almost no references.

We just finished doing somethings together as a zone, so today was pretty fun. We visited the Expiatorio again, it was the first time for a lot of them, so they all were pretty freaked out. It was pretty funny to watch. I have the most time here in the zone and I feel like an old timer. I love you guys, miss you, say hi to Hermana Green for me and Peace Out!
