Hola Momacita!!

My new comp is pretty cool, He is from El Salvador (insanely dangerous), and he has 15 months in the mission. He is a great missionary, super obedient and wants to work hard. We are getting along quite well, and working hard. The next baptism we have is for the 4th of July, so it will be a small holiday for me! I miss Elder May a bit but I know he is enjoying Queretaro. And please thank Hermana Green for me again!!! As for the homecoming talk, I still got 16 months Momma! But I would love to give my homecoming talk in Lakeview Trails. As for Cole, all that is going to work out fine. It happened to me and I like to think I turned out alright!

Elder Mejia and I are contacting a freak ton and getting rejected as well! But we laugh about it. If we dont laugh, we will just turn depressed. So it is good to laugh at failed attempts. The work here is pretty good, we just can't go into a lot of neighborhoods because they are dangerous. Still haven't been robbed again as I learned the area very well after we got assaulted! But nothing else to report, I love you guys a ton, forgot my adapter for the camera so no photos but love you guys and I miss you tons!

So we got transfers!!!!!!! Elder May is going to be zone leader in queretaro and I will be staying here! I am going to be recieving an elder named Elder Mecilla. Only one problem. he doesnt show up as a missionary on the list. So we are pretty sure the  zone leaders wrote the name down wrong or something. The crazy part is that Elder May has to leave in one hour to queretaro for some zone leader training!! So it is going to be a short one. I have to get off right now! I love you and I hope that I can finish writing you guys a bit later, and answer all your questions!! But if I dont, you know whats up! I love guys!!

My two pairs of pants and I are doing great!!! hahahahaha I will be fine with the same size. And about the couples. We had the interview, the zone leaders came on time, everything went smoothly..,....minus the fact that they never showed up!!! Yeah, 2nd time that they have done that to us, so we are reasonably frustrated with them. After we baptize people, we teach them all the lessons again, make sure they have a friend, and get a calling. I have done every single one of those with every convert minus the calling. I have no idea whats up with the wards, but they never get converts callings very fast. It takes FOREVER. I really do appreciate the efficiency of the American wards.

Elder May and I are still doing great, but for the past 2 days he has been under the weather. And by under the weather, I mean he feels like he is dying. Yesterday and today he has gone to the bathroom an uncountable times and thrown up uncontrollably. We called up Sister Mejorada sunday morning to see what we can do. She said we had to go to church. So we went and Every 15 minutes we ended up in the bathroom. Elder May was suffering, so we made it to about 2 1/2 hours of church then bought the medicine, and went home. Elder May was kind of mad that Sister Mejorada made us go to church, so with some humor he sent her a text message that goes "Hey! quick question, does throwing up the sacrament negate its effects?" hahahhahahah that was the highlight but all of today we stayed in. I cleaned everything in the house and studied a bunch, while Elder May slept a well deserved sleep.

THe Guy in rehab, Juan, we could not visit. Every saturday and sunday we can visit, but no other times. We planned for sunday, but it got complicated. My favorite part of our area are the hamburgers!! There are two people that make amazing hamburgers here and we have gone so much to one that we get a frecuent shopper's discount!! The best part is that they are totally mexicanized! With Salsa and chilis, and everything!! It is amazing!! And of course Cole talked the teacher into an 80%, he is his father's son!!! hahahahaha so that is what's up with us!! Love you guys!!!! And i officially have 8 MONTHS!!!

1) So the week started off with a lunch appointment. I looked down and saw this. I thought it was a toy bug. reached for it and it tried to kill me. it was very big and I was caught off guard, so I screamed in English to May, "That thing is from H$&%". Once again, I was very surprised
2)SUmmer showers are coming in hard.
3)Elder May had an upbeat attitude about his sickness.... kind of .

That boat will one day be full of grandkids and children-in-law, you best be preparing for that :P And it is insane that I have graduated nearly a year ago!!!! I still feel like I should be in high school but I am 19 years old and living in Mexico, speaking spanish! I kind of feel that now I have finally started growing up! I sure as heck have seen and experienced enough to last me a lifetime! But i still have more than a year of growing to go! So i will still have plenty of changing to do! We might be having another 2 baptisms this week but it all depends if they are ready for the interview. We will be having transfers in 2 weeks and I will most likely be staying and Elder May will be leaving just because he has more time here than me. Everything is going really good in our area, nothing else has happened to us and I doubt anything will, it just took the people a while to get used to us.

We have one investigator that we have been teaching in a drug rehabilitation center, and he is the greatest and easiest guy we have ever taught in our life!!! His name is Juan, 29, and he contacted us on the street while he was high but said he wanted to change his life. So he gave us his address and we visited the adress. We came to his house and his mom said that he got put into this center, so we visited the place and he was so excited to see us that he ran up to us and hugged us! It was great! He said he had been praying we would visit him there and we did. We tried a new teaching strategy where we just shared a scripture verse and gave a bit of explication, then we asked him what he thought. He took a second then talked for 34 minutes straight (Elder May timed it) and during which he explained the restoration, repentance, and the need to be baptized. He said "Correct me if I am wrong but I think I need to baptized!" We were dumbfounded and just shared D&C 20:37 (requirements for baptism) and after he read it he looked at us with the biggest, cheesiest smile I have ever seen and said " I am going  TO BE BAPTIZED!" He looked like the happiest guy in the world and he just looked........joyful.  He hugged us goodbye and we left. It was the greatest lesson I have ever had.

That is the highlight of this week and all I have to report is that it is going amazing in our area!! We also visited the Expiatorio (translation is more or less "place of atonement") which is a huge cathedral for Catholics and we went down into the tombs under the building. There were so many tombs in the walls and statues of saints and the virgin mary that it was insane! It was kind of creepy and Elder May and I just felt sick to our stomach the entire time. It was a relief to get out!! Thats my week!

Pictures
- We temporarilly turned ourselves into saints we were the ONLY people in the entire place!!
- It is super expensive to keep a place here, so if you dont pay, they rip your relatives body out of the tomb and it becomes available for other people
-There was a loose tile so I decided to leave an article of faith card underneath it
-the passageways were ridiculously short and Elder May was bent double trying to walk in it.

Well, I will tell you that it has zoomed by, and I do not feel at all like I have 8 months. It is only when I stop and think about all the stuff that has happened on the mission, when I feel old. I see new guys arriving and I remember exactly how they felt. I walked up to a new missionary the other week, Elder Sorensen, that we saw on P Day in the center of the city. I walked up to him from behind grabbed him on his shoulder and whispered "Dame tu dinero" Which is "give me your money". He froze, stopped moving and then I started laughing and he turned around with the biggest relief on his face, it was hilarious! I felt a bit bad  but we all laughed afterwards. I have just started working out with Elder Mays weights and it is doing something at least!!!

Elder May and I are still getting along great, and everyone pretty much is used to us now so no problems there. Now that election time is 6 months away, Mexico is getting pretty hyped up about it. Hundreds of people are just walking the streets with shirts of who they are going to vote for, so we steer way clear of there. We just heard that 2 candidates were killed last week, so it has kind of escalated. The drug cartel thing has calmed down a bit, there are police everywhere now, so they are fully mobilized.

We just went to Costco and Home Depot today and in an effort to eat healthier, We bought a bunch of stuff for salads, and are limiting our food consumption, as I realized that my body was much leaner before the mission. I am still loving it here and am excited for whats still to come. The baptism we had was quite awesome and Manuel (the kid) was very happy. He is from an inactive family, so before we could baptism we wanted to reactivate the family and it was an amazing experience to bring someone to gospel again. And to see it on their faces. We might have another baptism this week, but it is uncertain. We will pray for a miracle!! Love you guys and miss you!!!!

We were the only people on the bus, so why not?
It started raining so we chilled for a bit in the church and I am relearning how to play piano

Queretaro Mexico Week 30

Yesterday was Mothers Day.  We got to Skype with Elder Eaton and it was amazing.  He is doing so well and loving his mission.  We are so proud of him and his commitment to his mission.

So as I will be speaking with you guys this upcoming week, I will keep it brief :) This week was pretty good, we have been meeting a lot of new investigators. Literally 2 minutes before we walked in the cyber cafe, we got a contact and we got his address! So we have gotten pretty good at the whole contacting thing. We didn't have the baptism this week which is kind of frustrating. It was something we were really excited for, but the kids dad (who is less active) decided not to take his child to the interview to get baptized. All because there was a soccer game on. He thought that it was more important watching tv. Elder May and I got really mad. But, we can't do much.
Something I have noticed about myself is that I am becoming more impatient with somethings, and am becoming way more direct with the people. So the impatience thing, not good in any way. I have got to improve that. The directness I am kind of liking, not gonna lie. :) hahahaha it is more like I am finally just saying what needs to be said, and I am not scared to do it anymore. Just got to work on the patience. One of the less actives always promises that he will go to church, we teach him really good, and then he doesnt show up. That is when I start getting stressed and frustrated. Now I know what to work on. By now, Elder May and I have applied how everything we learn here in the mission will carry on over to life. So at least I am preparing!!!
Cant wait to talk to you guys, it will be on sunday, what time would be best for you guys? We can skype from about 4:00 and onward (Mexico, Leon time).

So guess what... THE GRINGOS ARE STAYING TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!! We got transfers and we started screaming and dancing like psychotic people and we were so pumped that Elder May forgot to tell the rest of our district they didn't have transfers either, since he's the District leader!!!! hahahahahaha we woke up in the morning with some missed calls and some very angry district members! It was awesome especially for Elder May because he had never had a companion for more than a transfer so I was the First!!

News on our area: We will be having a baptism this weekend and 3 more planned that are almost positively sure this month. We had another investigator but he couldnt get baptized because of some marriage problems. it was pretty sad but I know that he has the testimony of this church and he will wait for as long as it takes, which will be pretty awesome. I am just really excited cuz we just found a freak ton of people the first month and now a lot of them are getting baptized hopefully!!! This transfer has been the greatest of my entire mission, with an awesome companion and the most hard work I have ever done in the mission. I have worked super hard in Cortazar but never like this.

Some more weird contacts have happened during this week. We had one guy that was super drunk come up to us and start wailing about how he wanted to be more like us, tall like Elder May, with our colored eyes, and my hair of "gold". It was kind of sad but we cant exactly help someone who is in a state like that. Another time we were waiting at a bus stop and this guy riding a motorcycle passed by us, took BOTH hands off the motorcycle and pointed at us, and screamed something unintelligible. Then the next second the front wheel jerked to the left, and so he thrust both hands back on the handlebars swerved, narrowly avoiding hitting a car and swerved back to the road (almost colliding with the divider)  and sped off. Elder May and I looked at each other and started busting out laughing! it was pretty memorable!

1)Elder May got a haircut and didnt want to go throughout the day with an itchy neck, so he stuck his head in a bucket of water
2)I bought my first and last sandwich from a gas station. It was awful and soggy........but it was food
3) I got a blister and popped it. With my sewing kit. The missionary life is glorious
4) We had just washed all our socks and Elder May realized he didnt have any more. So we made our own drying machine
